Lexus will charge you in the area of £2000 for master key etc as they fit new ECM, locks etc.

If you get the ECm reflashed beack to factory & programme a master & A key, some locksmiths can do this, but could cost about £500 plus keys or see if you have lost keys on ya insurance :whistling:

Your best bet on the keys is trying calling some auto locksmiths and seeing what they can do for you.

As for the locking wheel nut, what sort is it, is it the sort with three separate holes in it ? If so, they're pretty poor and you'd probably be better off getting that removed (e.g. hammering a slightly-too-small socket onto it and getting it off that way, or using a locking wheel nut removal tool from somewhere) and getting some decent ones. Otherwise Lexus can probably help you with getting a key for it.

are they all the same keys for the nuts?

If so, find another lexus owner!

If not, you can knock them off using a chisel - thats the way people used to do it years ago never tried it myself on an IS though.

Put a small cold chisel or similar into one of the holes and try to knock the nut round that way. Takes a while and hit and miss and whill damage the nut but should get it off.

have you got the key number for the locking nut mate? its normally on a bit of card thats in the box for the wheelnuts? go to lexus and tell them the key number and they'll have a new locking nut key made up for u. takes a couple of days buts better than having to get the nut forcefully removed. think it cost me a tenner for a new locking nut.

I don't think they're all the same. Sometimes though it might be that a company like Lexus only uses a small number of variations of a locking wheel nut, so you *might* get lucky and find another owner's key that fits.

all the keys defo arent the same mate...they're all slightly different. what type of locking nuts have u got as well? are they the early 3 pin versions or the ones with a flower design? I'm sure I had a thread about locking nuts a while back when I got my car as it didnt have the locking nut key with it. Do a search for threads by me mate ;) I bought a new set of locking nuts with key off a guy on the forum as I couldnt find my key number even tho I had searched through the whole car then like an idiot I found the card with the key number on it in the glovebox lol...I had looked in the glovebox previously as well lol
