Nav Update - Allow While Driving!?

Hey all,

On this website, http://www.lexus-mapupdates.eu/

If you click on the big button "WHY UPDATE", it then shows a box, and it says on it:

"GOOD NEWS! NO MORE FROZEN SCREENS! With your new map-update DVDs (PZ485-X03EU-08 & PZ485-X03RU-08), you will have not just expanded coverage but also an extra function allowing you to operate the navigation while driving*."

*: please refer to FAQs for the limitations of the application.

So what does this mean?

They've finally allowed us to operate it while driving!?

Im not sure about this. Can someone confirm this for me?

Seems to be a E.U. website, so it should apply to the UK

Yes that's correct, the latest DVD for the latest generation nav systems (if you have an IS250 then that's the one) allows nav inputs while moving :)

And how would I go about getting one of these without paying for it? (implying via some form of Software download/////home made one)

Got mine from eBay. They sell the dvds in sets of four covering the whole of Europe. You need Europe West in the UK. So you keep an eye out for someone who needed one of the other three dvds and is selling the rest off including Europe West. Got my 2009 disk from someone in Greece for £30 then sold my 2008 dvd for about £25 as I remember. Upgrade cost is therefore less than £10!

I have done this twice now.

Definitely not the DVD, not sure about the phone.
