How Many Buttons Does Your Key Have?

Hey all.

I've seen a key in the IS250 manual with 4 buttons on it. The 4th one being the sound alarm button.

Is this for UK models? Only I have two 3 button keys.

Only three on mine, lock, unlock and boot. Probably for non-European market where the alarm is optional. Not having the option also allows the non-European model to have a sunglasses case between the sun visors. In the European models it has the electronics for the intruder detection system. I know which I'd rather have

That's a US thing, all cars have a button on them that activates the horn and the hazards (effectively the alarm) so they can find the car in a car park - clearly european owners remember where they left their car so they decide not to add this feature over here :)

I think they call it a panic alarm though, in which case I'm not sure why it isn't available everywhere

Another quick question - I posted a topic regarding the parking brake on an Auto SE. No replies yet..anyone know if it is meant to make the ratcheting sound?!

Hi. the foot brake on the auto is supposed to ratchet - like any normal handbrake would.

Ah thought so - i just wasn't sure, bit annoying though I guess but as you said it's simply a hand brake! Cheers.
