40000mile Service But Is200 Sport Is 8yr Old

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

My 2001 Is200 sport is due its 40000mile service which according to the book is just a oil/oil filter change.

I have already replaced the air filter, spark plugs(since theyve been in for 8yrs!), and oil/oil filter.

Is there any other oils/fluids I should think about changing at this age/mileage?? And specifically what brands/ grades??

I think the car has only had 5 services in its life due to older age but low mileage.

Cheers

Has the cambelt been done? It should have been changed at 60k/6 years (whichever comes first).

Also, have you thought about getting the diff and gearbox oils changed as well as the brake fluid? Might as well as change the coolant as well.

Is getting the cambelt changed a big job? Is it as pricy as getting the timing belt changed?

They are the same thing - will cost at lexus dealers around £300 at any decent garage should be about half that - maybe up to £200.
