Rx400h One Wiper Not Operating

Recommended Posts

I have a 2007 RX400H.

FUnny problem, the passenger side wiper will not operate at all. It is free to move but will not move.

The driver side one works just fine.

Does anybody know if there is a seperate fuse for each wiper or any other clues?

Rishi

Do you mean that the arm moves freely if you moved it around? If so, then it'll be a case of a loose nut (size 12?). Tighten it and all should be OK.

However as yours is an 07, then likely to be within Waranty - speak to your Dealer.

Hi,

Did you switch on the wipers when they were still iced up and stuck to the windscreen? If so you may have either disconnected a linkage or broken it.

As ihpj says have a look at the locknut on the wiper arm and then if under warranty get the dealer to repair.

There is only one motor driving both arms connected via what Lexus call the "Link Assembly Windscreen Wiper."

Sorry should have reported back, yes it was the Lock Nut which had come loose...

Hi just reading through trying to find an answer to a problem I have regarding the passenger side windscreen wiper not working, drivers side works fine, and I see you say about a nut? can you tell me where the nut is please and how to get to it, I have a 2006 RX 400h.  Is this a common problem on this model car?
