Will Rx300 Winter Tyres Work On Rx450?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have a set of winter wheels/tyres which I bought a few years ago for a winter trip to the Alps (hardly used). I have recently upgraded to an RX450 and wondering if these will still work given that the wheels on RX450 are 19inch.

Here are the specs:

Bridgestone Blizak LM25 235/55/18

18 inch wheels (with crust for winter)

Thanks,

Sami

Interesting. Not sure what the off set is on the 450h, but assuming it is the same as the previous RX then I don't see why not?

Hi

I had the corrosion problem with my 400h and the wheels were replaced under warranty.

However, when Lexus MK first tried to replace the wheels they found they could not as someone had sent in the wrong wheels. Apparantly the wheels they had got in were for an RX300 or 350 and they said they could not (or would not) fit them! :tsktsk:

Correct wheels arrived a week later and were changed with no further problems.

The upside of this was that I got 2 different courtesy cars to play with in a week! :whistling:

Best to check with Lexus first.

Regards

JBP

There are two issues here

1) Will the wheels physically fit

2) Is the Rolling radius close enough to the existing wheels

The answer to one is try them and check they dont foul on full lock

The answer to two is that the diff is 3.5% which is not great but not terminal your speedo will overread by this. I have had worse on a previous car with snow tyres that were deliberatly smaller to allow for chains
