Hello to all members. I've just bought a 56 plate is220d se with 63k and have previously owned a is200 (big lexus fan). Love the 'IS' range as a valid alternative to the german manufacturers. I've just taken my new motor to a Lexus dealership to be checked out and although the car is great to drive they've shown up a few faults which could eventially cost me alot of money to repair

Anyway, I'm hoping to find some people on here with similar problems who may be able to point me in a cheaper direction.

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies

Hi, what were the probs reported by Lexus? Did you suspect anything or just got it diag'd by Lexus to be on the safe side.

Reason I ask is I am picking up a 220d sport (w/ multimedia) tomorrow. 58K on the clock from independent garage. They have said 3 month warranty and said that they will make sure the car is ok.

Not sure whether I should get it booked into Lexus for a check-out or just see how I get along with it. The independent garage may kick up a fuss if it's just Lexus saying diag's say this...... Did they charge you to check it out? I live near Lexus Stoke and got them to check for any recalls (none outstanding) - they were very helpful.
