How To Remove Remove Cigarette Lighter From Is200

Recommended Posts

Is it auto or manual-mines an auto, undo the gearknob and carefully lift up the top part of centre console from the chrome ring surrounding the gear selector forward-actually use a screwdriver to lift up from the chrome ring then the rest is easy-watch the wiring as it comes up,youll need to undo a few simple plugs to get full access-that was my first problem as well

i thought he meant the cigarette lighter not the gear surround panel!

Oh right, thanks guys. Yeah I probably wasn't to clear, I've got the cover off and got full access I just can't seem to get the cigarette lighter out from the cover. It's got a white plastic molding underneath, looks like it has two white tabs that might press in to release it but they don't seem to budge. Just wondered if there was some special sequence to get it out like twisting it or something. Didn't won't to break it if this can be avoided. I'll try again tonight.

Cheers.

the thing i found was that the big bulky bit on the back of it wont pass thru the whole. there probably is a way to do it but i wasnt prepared to spend hours on finding out.

twas easier just to break it out and fit a new one. it was broken anyway so doesnt really matter if i broke it some more!!
