Problems With Keys

Reading the Forums there seems to be an increasing problem with peoples keys snapping, all in the same place.

I know Toyota (Lexus) have other issues on their mind at the moment but the frequency of this makes me think there is a design flaw in the keys that should be addressed.

Has anyone thought of making a group complaint?

Would they take any notice?

I guess keys are old technology now. Most new cars use slot-in cards and push buttons to start/switch off engines now.

True. But we know the keys only cost a couple of quid, those of us who have bought them from Ebay/Hong Kong. Surely a good publicity idea at this of all times to offer replacement keys free of charge. Good positive publicity for a relatively small cost. Hardy inspires confidence in a brand when you are looking to change a car if your keys have all snapped?

:whistling: I don't know what the fuss is all about as I have never snapped a key in all my years of driving and in any of the cars that I have had which is a fair few.. must be something you are doing to the key as to why it has snapped.. :shifty:

I am on my 3rd Lex and this is the only one it has happened to, but I have had this car the longest. It is now approach 6 years old. The fact all the keys break in the same place suggests that after a period of time and repeated use they fail.
