So Many Problems ...why No Recall?

Recommended Posts

i own a 94 ls400 i absolutly love this car however i cannot believe that so many people have the same problems and lexus never did anthing to fix them

1. the cluster panel flickers on and off in cold weather

2. the lcd clock and temp died out

3. the p.s assembly valve dies and you lose p/s fluid and have smoke coming out the tailpipe.

i have read post after post of these things happening and lexus didn't recall or fix these problems.

I would agree that it probably isnt considered a safety issue and unless it was occuring relatively close to when the car was new would be deemed reasonable wear and tear, after 16 years you do expect things to go wrong ...even on a Lexus !

The LCD panel was gone on mine at purchase but I had the Lexus Approved 16 year warranty on the car so it was quickly sorted :whistling:

Seriously I bought the replacement LCD from the USA for around £40.00 and repaired it myself.

The cluster is original I think and has not yet failed if it should again a couple of capacitors which I will fit myself should sort it.

Same with the PS valve still original and still working if it does go it will be bypassed.

Can't grumble there aren't many cars of this age requiring such little and cheap repairs ( if you can DIY).
