Help Please..which One Shall I Buy !

Recommended Posts

My first post folks......go easy please :)

I am taking early retirement soon and want a quality reliable vehicle for my hobbies.......fishing, photography, dogs etc....basically outdoor pursuits which will take me off road on mainly tracks and the occasional grass field.

My name will tell you I am an MB owner :whistling: , (S320 ) but I fancy a change of type !

I have a budget of about 20K, and was thinking about the RX350 ?

Any tips and opinions would be most welcome :)

Hi - welcome to LOC.

The RX 350 would make excellent choice - it's 4wd enough to handle a little light off road. I had one for 3 years and it was totally reliable, comfortable, spacious and had all the toys I needed.

IMHO - get the SE-L. The air suspension allows you to raise and lower the car at the touch of the button. Also it gets power tailgate.

Only negatives - fuel costs. I ranged from 17/18 in town to about 27 on motorway.

Overall - the 350 will be a great choice.

The hybrid won't really work off road though as it's mainly two wheel drive, with the 4WD being provided by the electric motors when required.

Best to go for the 350 if you are going to take it off road. However it all depends on how intense these tracks will be, if they're anything serious I'd probably go for a range rover personally.
