hi i have mk 3 1996 the egr pipe is there only 1 or 2 pipes ??? and do any one have correct part number please ? slowly getting through the list of jobs to do

Hi,

It's only 1 pipe (in 2 halves for the mkIII IIRC) with a harmonica bit halfway. This is the bit that usually cracks.

Mine was cracked in 2 places and managed to repair it. Maybe an option instead of buying a bew one?

Hi

I will swear there was another reply to this topic earlier today or maybe I imagined it :hehe:

Anyway, you might find the following links useful. After reading them, I concluded that cleaning the EGR was the 1st step, failing which replacement. What was interesting was that all the manufacturers have EGR problems -

I changed mine a couple of years back.

It is 2 pipes on the MK-III, you need lots of dexterity to do it.

Send me a PM with your email and I'll forward you some info.

IIRC, the pipes were about £50 each and you need 2 gaskets for each.
