Parking Sensors

My 99 LS 400dhp has what appears to be parking sensors on the rear bumper, but I've never heard them operating. Is there a switch to turn them on, or were all bumpers just made like this?

No answer is not disinterest, it's a grey area I think.

My 00 LS has nothing fitted, no sensors nor push-outs, nada

I think yours must be fitted after market. They will obviously get power from the reversing light and the buzzer will beep with proximity.

Once you select out of reverse the power stops.

The only thing to do is see if the capsules are there and if you can find the electronics attached to a reversing light.

If you find none, then you can get a cheap kit from eBay, something I fancied doing, but I would need to drill the bumpers, something I don't have much confidence in doing!

At least the hard bit for you may be done already...

Cheers, I'm not really bothered about having this feature - I just wondered why they weren't working if fitted. I'll have a dig around to see if anything is actually connected.
