Lexus Ls430 Headlight Amplifier

Recommended Posts

My near side headlight goes off and then i have to switch it on again and then it works. I have been told that it needs a headlight amplifier I was wandering whether this is correct? and if it is where could i get this from used? or at a quite cheap?

Thanks!

i've never heard of a headlight amp... dont let him fool you, its prob just a faulty bulb or connection. You can take the sidelight out yourself fairly easily and check. Check lexls.com for guidance, even if yours is a newer model.

I'd just put a new bulb in anyway and if it still does it then its the connection to it. No amplifier can sort intermittent signals out, and none is needed anyway. The lights work off your Battery and if that was faulty they'd all be doing it

I think that Jay555 is probably refering to the ballast unit required to run the HID lamps on the LS430.

As others have suggested an intermittent fault could be due to a faulty wiring connection either to the ballast unit or the bulb so I would check this out 1st before spending money on a guesstimated fault.

Yeah the bulb was faulty I swapped the right bulb and it worked fine so im going to get a new one thanks for the help!!

I am having the same fault on my new shape gs300 with Xenon bulb. Nearside headlight does not always come on. When I flick from auto to headlight and back on it comes

Did getting a new bulb solve your problem

How much did the bulb cost? Did you get it from Lexus?

Sorry to be dim, but how to you get the plastic engine cover off? Do you push down on the core of the clips or lever them up before pulling up on the clip?

Do not want to break one in forcing it the wrong way
