Stereo Buttons On Steering Wheel - Possible?

Hi chaps,

I'm pretty new here so this may not be the first time this has been mentioned. Are there any Lexus' out there that have stereo control buttons on the steering wheel and if so might it be possible to fit them to an IS200? My last car had a Sony HU along with the Rotary Commander that was installed on the steering column. I really miss it as you could pretty much configure any settings with the commander and not have to take your eyes off the road.

I believe it is possible, the auto has a stalk on the steering wheel for cruise control, I believe one or 2 members have the steering wheel from an auto on their manual car, and have made it so the cruise control stalk controls the stereo, I assume this is aftermarket stereos tho

Thanks guys. It's something I might look into a litle further I think. Just looking for steering wheels on eBay and found this. I wnder if the mounting is similar? Obviously you'd also need the rest of the loom that connects the steering wheel to the stereo...

good find mrg - if it fits the 200 someone clever might be able to do something homemade i would think to link it to the oem stereo maybe but costs and reliability might outweigh the benefits, i guess you are a bit committed to keeping the oem look with the original head unit then ?

Why not just get a remote control head unit?
