New Member! Hi :) Need Help Choosing A Lexus !

Hi every one,

first of all, I'll introduce myself. Im Callum, 20 yrs old, from north wales. Looking to buy a lexus is220d. Im seeing lots of mixed reports on them.... just wondering if any body has one? Had one? Getting one? and if you have had any problems, or any other comments about them ?

Any help would be great as Im really stuck on what to buy. I dont want a bmw, merc, audi, because every one has these... I like to be different.

Iv found some around a 56 plate, 80k ish miles, in SE L spec with full leather etc for around £8 - £9k .

Previously iv just had a 2004 Volvo S40 T5 (the petrol one...) and it was the most unreliable, thirsty car I have ever owned. Had it 3 months and 14 faults. Luckily i managed to reject it & get my money back.

Before that i had a vw bora tdi 130 for 2 yeas and that was great but i got bored of it. The cars before that arent really worth mentioning... lol

Now im after something with a bit of power but without the silly economy of the T5 iv just got rid of...

What do people think of the is220d's then?

And also, any body know of any company that can remap a Lexus IS220D, because iv heard they map nicely to a good 210bhp and nearly 500nm...

Welcome to LOC.

Despite I do not have an IS220d, but my advice is: if the car has Full Lexus Service History and has had all its recalls and as you have mentioned an SE-L with such a price, GO FOR IT, but preferably with an extended warranty in case anything goes wrong. ;)
