Ls430 Sat Nav Removal

Recommended Posts

If this topic is shown in other places on the forum I applogise.

I have a 2004 LS430 with premium pack. Does anyone have complete instructions on how to remove the radio/sat nav unit (with photos if possible).

I wish to fit the Vaistech iPod interface.

Any help would be appreciated.

Another post with no reply so hope this is useful.

In the absense of the ability to force an LS430 owner to reply, I suggest that you use the search facility on this forum and also on the audio forum (lower down the list when you log in). I am not familiar with the layout of the 430 although I would hazard a guess that it is similar in that there are no visible screws. This tutorial may give you some clues/confidence http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/audio/headunit.html

Everything you need to know should be here:

http://bahamutcars.f...ents/index.html

Look at BOTH repair manuals, as one will have bits in that the other doesnt.

And you will need adobe acrobat or acrobat reader installed on your PC.

Remove trim with the seat temp controllers by prising it out, then remove the gear selector surround (careful you dont break the clips), then undo a few bolts and it should come out. Cant remember the exact procedure as its been a while.

Thanks to all responses but all the info only goes as far as the radio unit, but I need to take out the sat nav screen. I will give it a go and if successful will post details

Well if you follow the link I posted then click on:

Repair Manual ( 2003.8 - )

Then go to Audio and Visual System

Then go to Multi - Display, then replacement

It will tell you.

I did say to have a look around both repair manuals.
