2Nd Car Key Broke

Recommended Posts

Hi,

My first car key broke practically in half whilst turning the ignition on a while back. now i have just noticed a crack that has appeared in the 2nd(spare) key. this is pretty frsutrating. I dont know if i am being too heavy handed or if this a common problem.

My question is, is there anyway to get this fixed without paying lexus dealer prices. over £70.00 they want. its only the black case thats cracked and they want how much.

any advice welcome.

thanks.

if you lock the car with the fob and then open the door manually with the key it does set the alarm off, thats normal,

I have had 4 keys off eBay, 2 for my last car and 2 for this car, cut and programmed, £25 each pair, never had any issues with breaking, it could be that u may be too heavy handed, get a better hold of the key in future see if that helps
