Super Cheap Insurance With Bell

Recommended Posts

Hi Peeps,

I have been a named driver for 3 years with churchill and have come to take my own insurance out. heres the thing most places are quoting me £1800 + yet bell have done some sort of special deal where they said they will give me 3 years no claim discount cuz i have been with churchill. its only £741.00 comprehensive.

Do you think i need to get them to send me some sort of email confirming this churchill discount as i am worried if i have a crash they will ask for proof of 3 years no claims discount. does that make sense as this seems rather grey and i like black and white?

I may be wrong but I thought Churchill allowed named drivers to build up their NCB even though they are not the actual policy holder,I would ask for written confirmation from Bell, if there is no catch there is no reason they wouldn't be happy to do this.

Insurers always require proof of NCD and the discount is normally stated on the policy paperwork which would confirm their acceptance of the discount.

Another thing to look at are the compulsary and voluntary excesses applied to the policy, these tend to be higher for a cheaper premium, nothing wrong with that unless you have to make a claim and then you find for example the excess is £2000 and the car is worth £3000.

yeh get it in writing (or email and print it) and if its as they said snatch their hands off for it lol, insurance has gone up by about 30% on average for most people, make sure their £741 quote wasn't based on any assumptions too

Some insurers do take named driver with a no claim record into account. As long as the insurance schedule shows "3 years no claim discount as named driver", you should be OK. I'd also get a copy of the insurance schedule which shows you as a named driver and the discount allowed at the time.
