Ok.......

im new to this website and i have always wanted an is 200 sport . finaly got 1. nice car crashed repairable. nothing serious.

firs of im a bit of a jack the lad so rain is my best friend. was messing around the last few days in the car and iv noticed the lsd is not working to its potential. keeps unlocking when i let off to change gear and spins 1 wheel. it is a sport so it has lsd, now this is the first car i havent welded solid and im thinking of welding it because its sh1te.

any1 no how or shimmed a is200 lsd before. or is there sumthing i could do to tighten it up???

If my guess is correct and your car is a '99 car then you wont have an LSD. Only newer cars I think 2002/2003 came with the LSD. You will have the standard diff as the SE.

Mine's a 2001 (Y plate) and has the LSD according to the codes above...

Is welding a diff legal in the UK?

Mine's also a 2001 on an X plate and has the LSD....

your diff is working fine...its a torsen type so it does allow some slip of one wheel then it locks...

and yes welding a diff is fine in the uk....but dont weld the sport one get a standard one and weld that the lsd ones sell really well

trust me lads i no an open diff and thi aint. itll lock up but unlock's fter a 1 or two rings.

would changing the oil make any difference or can this type of lsd be shimmed???

drift day cumming up next week and wanna have it done....
