Wrong Fuel

Hi guys today my wife decided to take my car {is 220sport} the fuel light came on so she decided to fuel it you know where this is going £50 of unleaded ran it for about 6 miles and it cut out .AA came out and recovered it home all this i knew nothing about was at work ,came home drained tank filled it with fresh fuel started and runs ok dont know if i should change fuel pump and injectors any ideas

I'm not too sure I trust all these people who say that "the missus" filld up with wrong fuel :flowers: , I've done it twice - and yes I felt like a muppet.

first time was coverd by insurance, second time insurance refused to cover it and Johnsons of Oxford wanted a hefty fee, never being quick to part with the hard earned I googled up on it and found a local company to do a fuel draindown for a couple of hundred, and as i suspected the dealer was on the make http://www.fuelfixer.co.uk/2012/07/petrol-in-a-diesel-lexus/ put my mind at rest

My dad did this to his Alfa Romeo. Totally screwed the engine, over £1500 to fix something about a common rail system needed completely replacing.

Sounds like you got lucky, when my dad drained his etc. and put diesel in it still wouldn't start.

Count your blessings and hope it keeps running fine! :)
