Squeaking Noise Is200

Recommended Posts

Hi

this problem has gradualy got worse still no wiser to what it is, bascily ther is a squealing/squeaking kind of noise quite loud and high pitched and genreally tends to happen at low revs/ engine understrain/ and when cold, im pretty sure its coming from the rh drivers side of the car but not 100% sure.

Does anyone have any ideas atall of what it could be. The belts are coming up soon would this be the cause of the sound? The brakes ect all seem ok.

Any response would really be apriciated!

Thankyou

My Power steering belt does that when its cold and wet make sure all your belts are tight.

If it has been happening for a while then there will be a glaze on ur belts. get a crayon and hold it on the ribbed part of each belt when running the noise should go away but it will come back. The crayon only helps you diagnose the problem it doesn't fix it for long.

Had a look at the belts they dont seem to loose, forgot to metion as above the noise only happens when the car is moving, apart from the vibrating noise that can be heard with the boot down and when you rev up, as the revs come down around 2,000rpm it will vibrate a bit.

Any mroe help would be apriciated.

Water pump ever been changed?

As said above its been known for the cam belt to be pushed forward into the casing and wear down!

Did you check it?

if its only when moving it sounds a bit like a sticky caliper.
