Engine & Gearbox Removal

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

I have the chance of buying an engine & gearbox with only 33,000 on it to replace the 165,000 mile unit already in the car.

I'm pretty confident with a spanner and i have all the tools to do the job but was just wondering weather there was a write-up on the subject.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply.

Good idea with the clocks, and yes i'll be replacing the mounts all round & prop shaft coupling.

I'm looking to do the swap in january so i'll keep the club informed of the process.

The reason i'm replacing is the old blue smoke at startup and she's burning oil,i've replaced PCV valve but that made no difference so a nice 33,000 mile engine & gearbox should last a bit longer than the present unit.

I just like getting my hands oily lol.

& thanks craig i might need some tips m8.
