Rx 300 Suspension On Rhs..any Ideas ?

Recommended Posts

A series 2 RX 300..driving fine until it appears the right hand side of the vehicle is not lifting..and is noticeably sat lower than the left hand side. The pump runs for a short time. Where do I start.?

Thanks in anticipation .

Hello and welcome to the LOC.

I would start with a disgnostic read out to see if anything shows up to indicate the fault then turn my attention to the height control sensor concerned.

Check for leaks on the pump lines and secure connections.

I am not too familiar with the RX suspension set up but from what I can see on the exploded diagram they appear to have conventional spring/damper set up and a seperate suspension height control system.

Put it into Lexus yesterday...They came back with "It needs 3 shock absorbers"...how can 3 all go at the same time on a 4 mile trip..The left hand side is up and looks fine...the right hand side is down..£502 each plus vat plus fitting....Mmmmm..need to take it somewhere else I think or get it on a ramp.

Just had the car on the new Bosch system..it found the rear rhs unit to be faulty. Anyone know of an aftermarket company that doesn't want £500 a corner...or even a breaker...

Sorted it...

Bought the Lexus Workshop disc, it's massive but a good read.

Finished buying a second leg..still didn't come up..

Pushed down all 4 corners to re-set the ride height sensors with the ignition on and in Neutral ..Turn ot off..then back on Start the engine...and it is now fine...Thanks for your suggestions...Still have the disc if anyone gets stuck
