6Th Gear

When I bought the car it had an annoying rumble noise when in 6th gear, most noticable at 80mph, drop it into 5th rumble noise gone.

Must be the box I thought. Few months ago I had another box fitted but it is still the same! cant be the box then...what the heck is it then? :eerrrmm:

You put a used box on it? How many miles? If you put a used box on it, it properly have the same internal problem.

Yeah, it was a used box with 80k on it, but my box had only 38k on it...just seems a tad odd...maybe propshaft or the dreaded flywheel??

Well my gearbox doenst have a sound in 6th gear, and it have done 128k miles. But i have welded the 2 mass flywheel together on my mates IS200, and it engages the clutch mutch smoother, it was wobbly before.

But i dont know if it may be making the sound on yours.
