Hi guys

Anyone know of a good garage in the chester area? Just got quoted £607 for a calliper and some brake pads by Lexus Chester, after I managed to crawl back on my chair I figured it cant be that specific, surely a local garage should be able to do this, and for half the money!

Problem is of course I know only 1 garage here and that’s a Jag specialist, and I dont really want to just pick one from the yellow pages, so I was wondering if anyone here could recommend me a garage they’ve used?

I used Roscoe Engineering in Liverpool to fit my springs.

After getting ridiculous quotes like £228 plus VAT - these guys came in at £120 plus VAT.

They have a really good reputation in the city - specialists in "performance" type mods, superchips etc - but they do all sorts.

Get yourself the parts and give them a call - I have the number in the car, I'll post it later if you are considering it.

I'll post the number tomorrow mate ;)

as for cost of parts, best bet is to hope some other kind soul with more experience than me pops in - someone like GRiM or Chris Shipley might be able to help.

don't be put off by how the place looks- its in an converted underground train tunnel - bit of a squeeze getting the car down, but I got my IS and my fathers big bargey Rover Stirling down there easily enough (hug the left hand wall).

hi what year is your car ? i have set of front pads for LS400 bought on e bay, new and boxed but wrong for my LS 400 95 model. they are ferodo fdb868a, on box says for LS400 90 -

mine's a '92, but i dunno whether they're the same parts, waitin for the numbers
