1st check engine then vsc fault othereise drives fine, did have bang on sunday hit a corrola just bumper damage could this be the cause.

I have exactly the same. After about 10 minutes of driving the CEL comes on, almost immediately followed by the VSC warning and rough idle. After a LOT of reading up on it, I 'diagnosed' it as a faulty OCV - Oil Control Valve- Luckily for me Ian (Mybikesacx500), just purchased diagnostic software and a cable for his laptop and was kind enough to use it on my car. It came back with code p01349 (which I suspected) which is: VVT malfunction bank 1. Bank 1 is cylinders 1,3,5 &7 and is on the passenger side (UK). I have taken out the OCV when hot, immersed it in WD40 while operating it several times (put 12V across it) and this has made a difference. I'll probably repeat this a few times to see if I can get it cured completely. If not I'll have to buy a replacement.

I have been searching high and low for a good used one, but came out fruitless. The ones that did have a used OCV asked silly prices. You can get a new one from www.cheaptoyotaparts.co.uk for only £86 ex vat. the part number is: 15340-50010

replacing the OCV is a 5 minute job. It's located at the top front of the engine and is held in by 1 10mm bolt. Easy peasy

I was looking a the owners manual and it states , if you disconnect the battery and dont let the VSC reset it will give the same warning signs untill it resets , so far so good .

That would explain the VSC light, but not the CEL though.
