Service For My Rx400H

Recommended Posts

HI there

Can anyone recommend an independant Lexus specialist garage in the Wokingham/Reading area in Berkshire, as i am fed up having to pay Lexius main dealer prices, and just looking at the price for replaceing a set of discs i save 50% by going to an independant. As my 60k service is now due, i was hoping someone could suggest a good garage in the Berskhire area...

Hi Mate i know this is not near you but may be worth a day out as not too far. I have been using Roys Motor Company, Lexus/toyota specialist for the last 25 years and are superb! Have never had any issues with them and can't do enough for you. They have serviced my RX on several occassions as well as my GS and IS before that. My last service was a 10k service with the disc's cleaned up and steering looked at for £156.00. They have just qouted me £176.00 +vat for a 40k service. Why not drive up from yours to Norwich leave your car there , they will run you into the city, spend day shopping, They pick you up and drive back home sorted. May be worth a call mate. If you do Speak to Ian he will help you out, tell him Phil from Lowestoft recommended it, he'll look after you. Have a look at there web site on line.

A bit late in replying to this, but some useful info for everyone in regards to a decent alternative independant Lexus/Toyota specialist rather than going to a Lexus Main Dealer for servicing. Try UK Teknics in Maidenhead www.ukteknics.com Main contact is Waleed and his specialty is the RX400h, but does all Lexus and Toyota models. Very reasonable rates and will only change what is needed and will not just change it due to the guide books saying it "should" be changed. Worth the trip to Maidenhead !! They are always busy, so don't just turn up, phone first.

for 5+ year old vehicles there is the option of the 'essentials service' at Lexus dealers which is around 30% off the price of the standard service and most of that difference is just a reduction in labor rates.

Well aware of the Lexus "Essentials" I had a Jeep when they first came out in the UK many many years ago and they introduced a similar type of service for 5+ year Jeeps, so Lexus are trailing on the concept. 30% is good, but I'd rather have 50% + off from UK Teknics who are ex Lexus technicians and have all the Toyota testing kit, as I have seen this with my own eyes. Anyway, it's just another option for us Lexus poeple, so it's up to the individual in the end to chose. Cheers

I agree with Bobby, UK Teknics provide an excellent and friendly service, very customer orientated.

I had my transmision oil and coolant chamged today on my 2003 RX300 using the Lexus recommended T-IV oil and super longlife (pink) coolant, total cost £150.
