Terrible Start :( But Hello All The Same.

Well firstly hello guys.

Just bought my first Lexus, 2007 220d with 45k on the clock. Seemed a really nice motor for the short period I drove it.

15 miles off the garage forecourt and decided to go into limp :( oddly it would still rev high but just instantly lost all guts. And then gave me the lovely check vsc, mil light, and traction control light.

I'm quite mechanically minded and would have normally started investigating myself to see if it was an easy fix like a blown boost hose. But with only having done 15 miles I thought I'm not gonna touch it.

So now she is left on the side of the road, the garage came to my house to collect the keys are going to recover her fix her and deliver to my door.

Hopefully next time I drive it we'll get on slightly better. :P

Not a great start to Lexus ownership But as you say the next drive will hopefully be a bit more pleasurable :winky:

no not a lexus dealership but a decent used car company that primarily buy main dealer trade ins so have main dealer links

im fairly confident it'll get resolved and be alright, just as i see you lose a bit of confidence in a car when you bought it as a reliable daily :S

Sounds as if they are sorting it - hope it all goes well.

Don't lose confidence in the car - it happens. Look on the bright side, while the mechanics have it they will be inclined to check it over for any other issues. If they are a reputable business they won't want you knocking on their door with another problem any time soon.
