Lexus Diff And Gearbox Oil Change

Recommended Posts

Hi, My Is300 requires fluid change as it is pretty high mileage now.

Am I right to say that there are 2 different types of diffs? One that requires LSD additive and one that does not?!

As per this thread..... http://my.is/forums/f115/2003-is300-rear-diff-noise-443215/

Am I OK to use this stuff..........2x bottles of course for the diff?

Or shall I go genuine Lexus? I will probably call them a bit later.

What about the gearbox oil? What grade etc? Cheers

regarding the gearbox just a drain and refill should be fine not a full flush of the system as that might do more damage than good. Lexus only recommends Toyota Type T IV and nothing else. i think a 5ltr is about £60 from Toyota garages sounds expensive but that would save you ££$$ on transmission rebuild if another oil is used in the A650E gearbox.
