No Air Con / Help Needed Before The Hot Weather Goes

Hi All

Really need some help with a issue of no aircon on my IS200 1999

Swapped it for my 2001 V6 Vectra and never looked back, even though i had to change the clutch n flywheel, pads n discs all round and give it some TLC...well worth it, well i think so and ive always wanted one.....anyway...

I know a few mechanic's as i work fo a main dealer, and ive been told that there is no live feed to the a/c pump, changed the triple way valve on the front aircon pipe, nope not that, then was told it could be the relay, found that and change it, no that that...

Just wondered if anyone else can point me in the right direction???

Have a second hand replacement pump on stand by but ive been told that it still wont be that as there is no live feed....I dont know, i dont get my hands that dirty as im one of the ones wearing a shirt and tie in the nice warm, air conditioned office : (

Any help will be greatly recieved

Cheers

Mark

There are various sensors, relays,an ECU and the magnetic clutch within the AC system.

I assume that the relevent fuses have been checked?

Have the refridgerent levels been checked as if low the compressor will not engage.

You will need a wiring diagram I think to trace the loom back to where the supply is missing.

Factory manuals are great but expensive but you can get reasonable CD ROM copies on eBay for a few £££s.

I have one for my LS400 and this includes the electrical diagrams for the AC but not much use for an IS.

Hi there

Re gasing was the first thing I actually got done as it was the easiest and didn't cost anything, tech actually emptied and refilled it twice so I'm assuming that area is fine.

With reference to fuses, yep checked all them due to another reason, interior lights and door lights one blew, but checked all the others while I was there.

Got a auto data disc on my pc at work but don't know if it goes into that much detail so guess I will search on good old eBay for some wiring diagrams. Hope to god it ain't the ecu,

We'll see

Thanks for advice
