Leaking Sun Roof

Hi folks,

recently joined, had my lovely Lexus IS 200, 2 weeks, what a fantastic find and purchase. I have just discovered today, because of overnight rain, that water drips through the sun roof. Sliding/ tilting original type. I checked and the glass is ok, I think it is the rubber seal around the roof itself. Any ideas as to how to sort it, sealing kit sealing fluid or something down those lines, any help would be appreciated folks, year of car 2002

Hello and welcome to the LOC.

A common cause on other Lexus models are blocked sunroof drain tubes, there is one in each corner of the framework the pipes exit at the front of the car and via the boot area at the rear.

They are clear plastic tubing and it has been suggested in the past to obtain some of the thicker type of strimmer cord to use as a drain rod.
