2003 Ls430 Sat Nav Camera

Recommended Posts

Is yours the update LS430 that actually has the camera?

I am not trying to be smart etc - 2003 was the changeover year to the revised model change.

Mine (2003) is just before the change and so does not have the camera. That being said, the sensors are brilliant and I have never had an issue with parking (although am used to very large cars, including bigger than the LS)

Hello Boys, Yes its the updated model 6speed box,and yes it is the one from Chester, actually Connahs Quay is there something i should know ??

I have tried to locate a secondhand one to no avail, its like trying to buy a chocolate fireguard.

But i suppose there is always Lexus at £600 a shot.

Regards, Alan

PS (the guy who sold it said you'll pick one up secondhand but don't pay more than £150) hahaha

I went to view this car at Lexus Cheshire but when I'd got there it had gone. They said they got rid of it because due it not being used it started to throw up some "electrical gremlins". They told me that the rear camera had stopped working and to fix the issues it would cost £5k!!! I appreciate that is not really good news or what you wanted to hear but I thought it best that you did. Keep checking eBay for 430's being broken - there are a couple out there and you may be able to find one on the cheap. Best of luck. On a positive note that car looked really nice and Lexus were impressed by it's history and condition which is why they were selling it from a main dealer.

You could replace with any differnt reversing cam if you can break into the signal out from the exisiting camera. As most are 12v, you'd need to take its power from the reverse feed because the lex cameras are 6v. There are a lot of rubbish caneras on eBay so worth asking for demo's of the output day and night if you're going to buy.

Hello Again, I telephoned Lexus Chester before i bought it to check it out,and all they said was its getting ready for rear discs/pads cambelt due at 100.000 its on 93.000 now, so they would have done it before sale and tyres which were done before i got it but on the whole it 's a good car just getting a bit long in the tooth for a Lexus forecourt, thats why i bought it.

I had it serviced at Lexus Chester on thursday, the health report they gave me said nothing only advisory dics/pads, so can you not trust anybody that sells cars. (silly question)

But having said that i've had it 10days now and done 5or 600miles and it runs perfect so fingers crossed it carries on.

Regards, Alan
