Well the lexus broke down the other day.

The Battery was flat.

Typically it happened at a hand car wash. The lads bump started it but just to add to the insult the Mercedes driver behind said " I should have bought merc!".

Anyway, new Battery fitted, apparently the old one was the original 6 year old Battery.

Did you not get any indication that the battery was on its way out? Poor starting? Dim lights? Slow wipers? I cant believe it was working perfectly and then dead?

I had this on a couple of occasions a fair few years ago and, I seem to recall the words 'Floating Cell' being used at the time, whereby the Battery can act normally one moment and then be totally'dead' the next. Whether this sort of thing would apply to current (no pun intended!) Battery technology I do not know.

To be fair, the car had been starting poorly for several months. It was slower turning the engine over, particularly on cold mornings.

I had planned to replace the Battery but not got around to it.

Best laid plans...
