400 Miles, 60 Litres

Granted most of it was motorway (about 370 miles of it), and the first 200 were with just over a half tank (40 litres), but by my book, that's about 30mpg, and 20.55 pence per mile (working on the average of 137p per litre)

Is that good or bad?

So you got 400 miles from under a full tank? I think it's a 70 litre tank, correct me if I'm wrong.

I would say that's superb! My last long trip I got 400 miles from a FULL tank, mostly motorway using 99RON fuel and before that I got 330 miles from a full tank running on 95 RON. Again mostly motorway.

What grade fuel was in there?

Regular 95 (first 40L was Shell, and the next 20 was BP)

And yes, 70L tank. I filled up the 40L at shell when the needle was on the E marker, and orange light had been on for maybe 5 or so miles.

I filled up the 20L when I left Leeds, the marker was on or just under 1/4 left. Then when the orange light came on at almost exactly 400 miles, and I dorve about another 5 miles to put some more in.

So not an exact science, but close enough : orange light (-5miles) + 40L + 20L > orange light (-5 miles)

Most of it, as said was motorway driving, with about 30 miles in town. Motorway speed was fairly constant, averaging 75/80, with a few reduced speed sections at 50. Now and again speed crept up to 90/95, and 105 at one point (oops), but overtaking cars would see the pedal get depressed a fair bit (with the little MPG reader saying 10!)

I recently brimmed mine from empty, just under 400 miles until another fuel stop, mixed motorway, urban and A and B roads. Combined all in all I didnt think that was bad at all from a 10 year old supercharged 2Ltr 6pot! Shame it costs £92 though, thanks pm!
