Computer Patch To Be Use The Battery More?

Recommended Posts

For days now my Battery is charged to the last bar and the engine cuts in even at the smallest acceleration below 10mph. Basically my car is eunning on petrol most of the time and even cuts in to charge my already charged Battery when idling.

This is compolete bollox. I wonder if there is a software upgrade available that will force it to drain the Battery a bit more and not start the engine until it is is half discharged or something?

P.S. messed up the title. Sorry

are you sure it is not using the petrol engine to run the climate control/heat the cabin? this is the only way it can satisfy your request for a warm cabin, try reducing the inside temperature.

I agree with Richard. In winter, the petrol engine will run longer to reach its normal operating temperature and to allow the climate control to warm the cabin. This will be particularly noticeable if you do short journeys.

You can test this: once you feel that the engine is warmed up and warm air starts coming into the cabin, switch the climate control off altogether. You should find that the petrol engine switches off within a few seconds. Might be easier to try this when the car is not moving, like at traffic lights.
