Hiya.....am currently looking at a Lexus advertised near me in Silver. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to whether the engine bay in 'primer' colour is standard ? Or should it be silver? Anyone with a SILVER IS point me in the right direction please?

Many thanks ;-)

Yeah I probably would be intrested Ian thanks. Just need to get a Lex now. Currently got a 53 plate Vectra C Sri 2.2 Diesel and am looking to change. I work at Toyota in Derby so know about the quality etc. I know I'm putting you in the spot but what would your advice be on swapping with a friend of mine on an IS200 on a Y plate with 130k? He has a change of job and needs a diesel. Never driven an IS200 before but always fancied one. Like my Vec, good work horse.....but I'm mulling over whether the loss in economy is worth it !! Any advice ? Cheers Ian

Before you think of swapping has the lexus got any service history and when was cambelt last changed? I personally had a vectra before owning lexus and would never go back.

Yes the economy isnt that good but the car itself makes up for it, although last year took wife to tunbridge wells and back and i managed 40mpg according to online mpg calculator.

So far all mines cost me is a set of discs and a service, surprisingly the discs and pads were cheaper for the lex than the 2.0 vectra.

It's got a bit of history early from early on in its life....and he bought it 6 months ago from another friend who's dad was a mechanic and did the cambelt change between 110k and 130K although there is no paperwork to back it up. It's a lovely car although I've never been in it. Got a 12 month mot and taxed for 6 months so its a good start....I know it's daft but I feel like I'm going backwards in the plates but know the Lexus is a far superior vehicle !
