i unfortunately cooked my engine.......water pump went and head gasket blown i took it to a mechanic i know and he has had the head skimmed he has put it back together but needed a breather pipe for something he contacted lexus and explained what he wanted and mentioned he had the head skimmed....they then told him that if you skim the head you will not be able to get the engine to run again.

Is this true?

If he does manage to get the engine running what problems am i likley to encounter if any?

thank's

Hello

well I don't see why skimming the head be a reason that the IS200 engine would not start. Every mechanic knows what's best.

We had our 1G-FE engine fixed from a crooked Rod. Although we didn't skimmed the head, as what I've seen no problems in skimming.

As the engine starts, the best is hearing what noise it makes? If all normal then all is well.

Let us know what's the results
