220d 56 plate 120k, the head gasket went. my local mot service garage fix it, a non lexus /Toyota,. but know its giving out thick black smoke, the garage says I may need new injectors, any one know where I can buy some for decent price

Hello and welcome to the LOC.

Your garage seems to have a strange diagnostic system in that they think you "may" need new injectors, have they not checked the old ones for spray pattern and leak off?

Was black smoke being emitted before the HG work was carried out?

One cause of black smoke is a mistimed injection pump so has this been re- checked?

Has the EGR been checked?

There are many possible causes but fuel injectors would come at the bottom of my list if they were all right before, they are unlikely to all suddenly fail at the same time.

Start with the engine and pump timing and go from there, if you do replace the injectors I have a feeling that the problem will remain with you several hundreds of pounds worse off.
