Led Smd Fog Light Bulbs

I recently bought a pair of LED SMD bulbs to use in my front fog lights. When I tied to fit them they would not work in place of the halogen bulbs. I tired the connector both ways in the socket bit still nothing. These are the bulbs I bought.

Anyone else have this experience or know of a mod to make them work?

Is that the right type of bulb? Its not the same as mine would have been.

The metal body on those acts as an earth, and my fogs have positive and earth connections I'm sure.

That the wrong blub type for is200 front fogs mate, you need this type fitting.

But i wouldnt bother, as they dont project enough forward light for fogs, if you want to run them as DLR's then thats fine just not as fogs!

2003-on cars have a different bulb type in their fogs; H3.

Do they really, my bad thought they were all the same...

Yeah deff no good as fog lights. If you want brighter fogs get a HID kit

I was thinking more to use them as DRLs with my LED sidelights. This is the link to autobulbsdirect where I bought the pair from. They are the bulbs recommended for use with my reg, H3 as Kodiak Sky says.

My first try with LED SMD bulbs in fog lamps back in 2011, wasnt impressed at all as you see so still using halogen bulbs. I`m sure bubls have improved since then...

LEDs in the fogs are only any good for the DRL look. If you want to improve your fog brightness get a HID kit for them
