Advice On New Windscreen Wipers!

Recommended Posts

Hey!

So it's come to my attention that I'm in need of some new windscreen wipers, I've heard here and there that the Bosch ones are rubbish, so can anybody guide me in the right direction for some half decent ones? If you could leave links to some that would be great!

Cheers

Jon

Do you still have the original OEM blades?

If you do go down to your nearest Lexus dealer and they'll replace just the rubber for you for £20. These are the best.

If however you don't have the original blades I found PIAA flat wipers are the best but not cheap. £40 for the pair.

When I had the bought the car it had Bosch wipers on, so I can only assume they were replaced.

Alright I'll take a look at finding some PIAA ones, cheers for the help! :)

I fitted the PIAA Silicone-Tech ones to my car recently and they're superb. At £50 a pair they should be, but they continually coat the glass with a thin layer of silicone as they get used which repels water brilliantly. At motorway speeds you barely need the wipers at all. The water just beads up and rolls off!

It says in my manual the rear window has some coating to repel the rain from the factory.

These PIAA wipers sound fab however £40? since when was silicone so expensive?

or alternatively for no top ups every few months.

as for wipers source a pair of blades from a second gen IS they have a smooth plastic surface rather than the normal wiry mess and toyota/lexus can replace the rubbers as Chris mentioned.

see this post for an interior view of the 2gen is wipers on 1st gen :)
