Yet Another Private Dealer!

Looking at the usual Fleabay listings and spotted what initially looked like a nice Lexus GS300 on auction.

Seller had provided a mobile number so being local I decided to give it a call to try and arrange a viewing as the car finished tomorrow.

Bearing in mind this is a private listing this is the conversation.

Me "Hello I'm ringing up about the car you have on ebay"

Seller "Which one I have a Lexus and a BMW X5 for sale"

Me "Are you a dealer?"

Seller " No the Lexus is my girlfriends and the X5 is mine"

Me " OK can I come and have a look?"

Seller "Which one?"

Me " The Lexus"

Seller " Er no it's locked up at work at the moment"

Me "I thought it was your girlfriends?"

Seller "Er yes it was one I took in part exchange"

Me "So you are a dealer then never mind I won't bother goodbye"

Then looked at the feedback,only sold 5-6 cars recently plus car parts... but not a dealer of course!

I'm in two minds at the moment Ian, I would like a later model but it's finding the right one at the right price. There again do I really want to give my present one away for peanuts.

That's the down side of selling, You know what your cars worth but everyone who's not an enthusiast want to buy them for nothing.
