Ls 430 - Its Time To Go....but At A Price. Advice Needed Please

Recommended Posts

Its time for me to sell my beloved 2004 (54 plate) LS430 which I have really tried to look after. I need some help and guidance as to where would be the best place to sell (EBay/Autotrader) and also how much I should sell it for?

So here's what you get:

  • Navy blue with cream leather - absolutely pristine condition
  • 120k miles with full Lexus or Lexus specialist service history
  • Air suspension struts replaced
  • Cambelt/water pump replaced
  • IPod Interface added (replacing CD player)
  • 2011 Satnav DVD's installed which includes Post Code finder
  • Car is currently running on a set of Nokian winter tyres (spare unused)
  • Recharged air-con (May)
  • Sale will include a set of Falken summer tyres that have only done 6,000 miles (spare unused)

This car includes the premium package with the breath taking Mark Levinson sound system which is great with the IPod and all the other toys you can possibly think of, all of which work perfectly.

The alloys could use some attention, but besides that I reckon this is one of the best examples of that model year on the road at the moment and a fair bit of money has been spent to keep it in tip top condition.

So where should I advertise and how much should I be asking?

Thanks.

Advertise it here in the for sale forum and make use of your Gold membership with free classified advertising.

Prices vary but by looking in Autotrader at similar models and mielage you should be able to price accordingly just be prepared to haggle!

So spill the beans are you staying with Lexus or defecting? :D

Thanks Steve.

Sadly my Gold Membership expired in April and I can't really afford to renew for what may be a fairly short period.

I'm selling because I'm doing a lot more work mileage and I also need a four wheel drive and the RX doesn't do it for me.

So defection looms....

I wondered if you could outline the update to the sat nav. Did the previous version you had installed not have post codes installed. I have the original version installed on a 2003 car and wondered if the upgrade would giv post codes?

Thanks

Barry

Hello,

The original discs (2003/04) that came with the car did not have any postcode search.

The 2011 discs that are now in the car include the option to input the first four digits of a postcode when you are doing a town search.

Still not perfect, but a hell of a lot better then previous.

Thanks fro the info worth thinking about. Where did you get the discs from and what did they cost?

Thanks

Barry

£50ish on fleabay - I just put a Gen4 Nav ECU in my 430 which take Gen 3/5 Nav disks. I have to hack the American ECU to get it to run properly and will post how to do it when I get the time to do it etc.

Just search on eBay for the update http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200933943753?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 is the one I used and Joerg (the seller) is great and ships very quickly. You do not need to buy all 3 DVDs. I have not found the post code function yet but then my foreign ECU is a bit troubled :)
