Roof Rack /ski Box For Ls430

Is it possible to fit a roof box or ski box to an ls430?

Hi Barry, without seeming to sound negative,it sounds like you'll encounter a problem sourcing a roof/ski-rack for your car,I enquired on the Forum recently, regarding a roof-rack for my LS400, a Member kindly pointed me in the direction of a potential supplier-who,when contacted, informed me that he had in the past supplied them for Lexus cars-but,due to lack of demand,had stopped selling them,the upshot being,they are very difficult to come by,-notwithstanding, the friendly 'abuse' I endured by a couple of Forum members expressing their horror at anyone wanting to install a roof-rack on any big Lexus!

Strangely,the ls200 models have a facility for carrying Skis-open the boot,you are faced with the small aperture,which enables storage along the length of the Transmission-tunnel,-odd that it was never implemented on the larger Lexus range.

The LS400 on its inception was aimed at a age group 55 upwards in fact the average age of most of the private sales was 58 so I think a ski tunnel box was probably surplus to requirements.

i think this sort of behaviour is best avoided with any ls,before long people will be fitting towbars and extended mirrors to go shed pulling and hold up traffic, beware its a slippery slope,it should'nt be done

ive spotted a pair of genuine roofbars for the sale for the ls430
