Lexus Specialists - Without The Lexus Prices

Hi,

I've had my lexus now for 3-4 months. Despite a few hiccups, I'm loving the car.

I often read the postings on this site, the problems people face with their cars and the rediculous prices Lexus charge.

As my car is 6 yrs old I've no intention of using Lexus unless I really have to. Problem is that I cant find a specialist local to me in Torquay.

So I thought it might be an idea to try and put together a list of specialists we could use who empty our bank accounts.

Sorry, I cant add to this list but I know there are some knowledgeable folk on this forum.

Surely it's about time Lexus garage services had some competition!

I had found one in Denton, Manchester while looking around for exhaust people but have no experience of them at all (lthough they did not answer an email I sent them, only tried once)

I had my 98 LS 400's exhaust SS Y section replaced and fully fitted for £250 as apposed to the £600 Lexus wanted

That's great to see there are alternatives.

If we can compile a list of good mechanics around the country who have fixed/serviced lexus cars then we'll all save some money. As much as I love my car I am ever fearful of something going wrong; though even more fearful of the Lexus repair costs!

Compare the cost of an exhaust for example - quoted £2100 for centre and back section - only available from Lexus. its not a part that's been released by them for the manufacturers that supply the likes of ATS etc - you can have a stainless steel one fitted for under £500 if you shop around through the specialist exhaust manufacturers.
