Hi guys looking to buy an IS200 but main concern with it is that the engine management light is on. I know its not possible to estimate cost/repair without reading the fault codes but what sort of problems generally trip the light? It has done 115k if that helps. Any help welcome.

Like with most cars these days, the EML can be triggered by a whole host/variety of faults, best thing is to have it read and that way you know what the fault is rather than trying to look for a needle in a hay stack and take it from there, could be something minor or something more serious.

Agreed, I would be very wary of buying it unless you know what the EML is on for. And don't take it on faith if the seller tells you what it is, make sure you have it read for yourself somehow if possible, otherwise you could be looking at some costly repairs!
