Lexus Rx350 Noise In Rare

Recommended Posts

I have Lexus RX 350 2010 , it has less then 40 000 miles. I did all services. I bought Lexus in US and now I am driving in UK. 2 weeks ago I have started to experience noise in the rear, when I started to move and make turn. I found dealership in Coventry, UK and drove there. They said that it might be problems with hand brakes and advise me to change rare brakes and disks. After they replace rare brakes and disk ( more then 400£ ) noise is still there and now they advice me to change rare deferential unite (because rear deferential oil is black and has metal in it) . It is more then 2200 £ of work. I did not expect that Lexus RX 350 would last so short time. Now I am afraid that I will need to invest more money into it. Should I sell it ASAP? Did you have the same problems?

No on RX300 and RX400.

I do not recall seeing anything here about such an apparent fault. Is 2010 not too late for an RX350, I though the Mark 2 shape ended in 2009, petrol version possibly earlier? If there is metal in the differential unit that does not bode well it must be said.

When did you buy the car, new or second hand?

I bought the car in 2011 in USA, it is new 2010 design.

The dealer told me that there is metal in the differential unit, that is why he said that I need to change the unite.

You might be better trying the American Forum given that it is an American model not European.

I think I can add some clarification here.

The RX450h that we are familiar with over here is also sold as a petrol only RX350 in the US.

Serguey, the model that you are referring to is not sold in the UK. Only the hybrid version is available. As suggested by Duncan, you may be better off checking the US forums for your specific model.

Thank you.

I change the differential unite, they said that the problem happened, because I did not change the differential oil ( according to US manual, I do not need to change it). Now dealership want me to change electromagnet 1500pounds. Does anyone know are there any chance to check if dealerships doing good job, and do not just want to take money out of me. 4000 pounds is quite big amount.
