Driver Seat (Base) Cushion Feels Flat And Hard

Recommended Posts

The driver seat base is starting to feel a lot harder now every time i sit on it!

The car has only done 71k so i find it strange the cushion will have gone flat already... I have heated leather seats.

Basically every time i get into the car i can feel what appears to be the spring or the metal base of the cushion.

There is a world or difference between the passenger seat and the driver seat now.

Does anyone know if there has ever been a recall or technical service bulletin pertaining to the issue of the seat padding?

I have been through all the recalls for the car when I was looking at what else could go wrong with mine, only a few weeks ago, I never saw any mention of a recall for the seat cushion.

Mine is at 72k and is the same "firmness" as the passenger seat. It would, I would think, depend on the use the driver seat had in its "previous life" if its a second hand car.

Possible the last owner did not carry a front passenger that much?

I have a similar problem with the 84k miles IS I just got. I wouldnt say the seat padding was flat but it definitely has lost some of its bulk and softness, and is a bit hard on the bum.

Was thinking of a cushion but it is will slide all over the place. Will investigate the foam replacement route, thanks for the tip.
