Hello,

I had bad luck on a freeway, broken timing belt that made a mess in a engine :(

I need your advice for parts since I dont live in UK but I plan to buy parts online since in my country they are ripping with prices... Any advice where can I get some online stores with good price on engine valve set, gasket set, pistons, timing belt set and so on?

Thanks a lot!

Alex

Hi Alex, I'm sorry to hear about your car....I've never needed to but engine components for my IS200 but it may work out cheaper once you have stripped the engine down to replace the entire engine or head for one from an MOT failure or an accident damaged car rather than rebuilding what you have..

There are a few low mileaged 1s going on eBay for around 2 to 300 with delivery for a whole engine. Iv just had my head rebuilt FULLY with a UK company MOTORCAST highly recommend them. They do a collection and delivery service and all in back to my house with vat was £252. Iv bought brand new rad, head set and bolts, timing belt kit, thermostate, new coolant temp sensor, spark plugs oil and filter and in total iv spent near 500 so far which i personally think is good.

Buy from the USA,places like Sewell Lexus, they normally go discount for club members or there's Rockauto.com.

How did you manage to break a timing belt, was it overdue or failure of the idler?

They have parts for Is 200 or IS 300 parts can fit it???

It was overdue, the person who sold me car gave me fake receipts and the car went with out any change of timing belt for 210000km...

Yes i saw that but how im gonna be sure that its fine until i have it longer than 90 days of warranty? Its kinda risky because to ship it back will cost me nerves and money :)

Where did you buy those parts? Is there any store in UK that somebody can recommend it to me so I can contact them by mail, phone or online shop?

Thanks! :)
