Do I Have Xenon Lights ?

hi all recently got a is300 with lovely bright head lights, I just want to know if they are Xenon,

did these is300 2002 come xenons ?

has an upgrade been done ?

how can I tell ?

All IS300 come with HID's as standard. 4300k bulbs :)

I take it hids is different from Xenon and halogen,

HID's stand for high intensity discharge. They are Xenon yes.

HID's are far superior to halogen bulbs as they give a crisper, clearer light and they require ballasts also. If you lift your bonnet you can see the ballasts. One is on the right quite clearly, little box with loads of wires going to and from it and says Toyota on it, the other is tucked up in the bulkhead on the left.

While where on the subject are 4300k a good colour to go for? one of my 5000k bulbs has just gone and thinking of putting in 4300k now but not sure if that is the same colour as my halogens which ive still got

Difficult to say without knowing what bulbs you currently have ;)

Standard halogen bulbs have a colour temp of around 3000k or less.
